Refreshed, refined, and ready to race. Now UDH-compatible with a redesigned rear triangle for cutting-edge drivetrain tech, this upgrade brings SRAM’s 13-speed RED XPLR compatibility, featherweight axles (just 51g a pair!), a premium titanium-ceramic headset for ultimate durability, and two bold new colours. It’s still the bike you love – just evolved for the next generation of gravel performance.
Launching Friday 13th June (.. seemed fitting going 13 speed on this date) Vielo’s flagship gravel bike the V+1 Race Edition is now even better thanks to a full refresh. That’s right, we’ve gone UDH. A new rear drop out design required a full rear triangle change to accommodate the latest drivetrain innovations. It may look very similar but trust us .. its new!
NEW – UDH compatible frame
What’s UDH? SRAM launched the Universal Derailleur hanger standard in gravel in 2024 with the RED XPLR group set. RED XPLR is the first gravel group set to feature a Full Mount rear derailleur that does away with any mech hanger. The Rear Derailleur mounts directly to the frame, eliminating the B tensions screws, and more importantly creates space for a 13 speed cassette.
NEW – Two new Colours!
Taking inspiration from the V+1 Race Edition tumbling logo fade, we’ve added two new colours. The first is a luxurious Teal and turquoise fade with light green highlights. The second being Blush with a dark purple fade and blue flashes of highlights. Both in satin finishes they’re vibrant, bold and beautiful.
NEW - Super Light Axles
To accommodate the UDH platform, we’ve made new axles just for the Race Edition 2.1 and they’re mega light! Weighing only 51g a pair.. 54% lighter than our standard A2T Axles. Removing the handles from the axle has saved a lot of the weight and made a lovely flush fit to the dropouts. They are available in 12 x 100 x 1.0mm and 12 x 142 x 1.0mm thread. NEW – Premium Titanium Ceramic Headset
We’ve upgraded the headset on the V+1 Race Edition 2.1 to a Titanium race and Ceramic bearings. The new premium headset increases longevity for even more miles in the gravel.
NEW – Group set options
The Race Edition 2.1 stays exclusively designed for wireless shifting (and 1x Of course!). Now able to accommodate SRAM 13 speed RED XPLR group set. As well as being backwards compatible with SRAM 12 speed group sets.
Tyre Clearance
Able to accommodate 50mm Tyres on 700c Wheels without the need for dropped chain stays. The clean, slender frame has plenty of space for big tyres and tyre clearance. Light fast comfy gravel performance is where the V+1 Race Edition lives.
V+1 Midnight
The Vielo V+1 Race Edition 2.1 will sit alongside the new V+1 Midnight frame design. The main difference being that the Midnight frame features semi-integrated cable routing and Vielo’s own Mech Hanger for 11 and 12 speed group sets.
